User group. Field technician and engineers of UK Power Networks

 

Mobile tablet app design and development was a part of major digital transformation effort by the company. The app required extensive user research and task-trends gathering for which a designated user group of technicians and engineers was provided by the company.

 

To account for all the specifics of the user type and use cases, in the agile environment, I created multiple interactive prototypes. Discovery stage reviewed the necessity of the extreme simplicity of the UI, while maintaining easy access to all the features of the app as well as integrating third party apps access.

 

The simplification of navigation systems was a major outcome of the design solution. Enhancement of the layout geometry and colour/tonal coding were also implemented for the streamlining of the task flows and simplify interactions.
